To suggest that a child can learn Greek is unusual in our modern culture, but if you look throughout history, it has been considered a standard part of a good education for many centuries, and just as in learning a modern language, children are especially suited to learn it! Greek is one of the mother tongues of the English language, with many English words derived from Greek. Greek is also a perfectly orderly language, ideal to help us understand the structure of any language, and learn how a language works. Koine Greek, the instruction in our texts, is also the rich language of the New Testament.
We offer several levels of Greek curriculum for young children:
The Greek Alphabet Code Cracker is a perfect place to begin. Students of any age will learn the Greek alphabet and phonetics while solving the mystery of the stolen Greek vase! Click here for more info!
Song School Greek, recommended for students in second or third grades, is a one year, song based course, teaching fun everyday vocabulary in Greek! Click here for more info!
Greek for Children introduces students to more vocabulary, and the basics of Greek grammar. It is recommended for students in fourth grade and up. Click here for more info!
