Students can sing their way through the Old Testament with this collection of 33 audio files, which includes songs for every chapter of the student text (excluding review chapters). Also included is a song that will help students memorize the books of the Old Testament. The lyrics to each song thoughtfully incorporate the people, themes, and biblical truths from the text and, paired with the masterfully arranged tunes, will aid students (and teachers) in retaining what they’ve learned.

Claire A. Larsen MA
Claire Larsen has had a passion for writing for children ever since she took her first Institute of Children’s Literature course more than 45 years ago. One of her assignments from this course was published in Jack and Jill magazine.
Claire graduated from Covenant College in 1970. There she met her husband, David Larsen. Their marriage lasted until David’s death in 2019. While attending Covenant College, Claire developed a Christian worldview and a reformed theological foundation that has shaped her writing and teaching. Over the years, she has had a busy ministry, teaching Bible studies and speaking at seminars.
In 2000, Claire received a master of arts in counseling from Biblical Theological Seminary. She spent the next seventeen years self-employed as a biblical counselor. During this time, she wrote the God’s Great Covenant series. Later, she co-wrote the first four books of the Curious Historian series with her son, Aaron Larsen. Both series are published by Classical Academic Press. She is presently working toward a master of arts in biblical studies from Reformed Theological Seminary.
Claire has 3 sons, 3 grandchildren, and 2 grand-dogs. She retired in 2017 and moved to sunny Orlando, Florida. When she is not writing, studying, or teaching Bible studies, she spends her time playing the piano, babysitting grand-dogs, and spending time with her family and friends.
John Messner
John Messner, BA, Music Pastor & Author
John Messner has long been passionate about helping others know and remember truth through music. He graduated from Eastern University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, where he developed a desire to combine thoughtful musicianship with a deep love for Scripture. John and his wife, Shelly, have been married for nineteen years and are the grateful parents of four children.
For twenty years, John was a member of the Christian rock band Saline, composing and recording three full-length albums. While raising and homeschooling their children, he began writing songs to help them remember Scripture and important ideas from their studies. What began as simple songs for his family soon grew into a broader interest in composing music that helps students learn and retain truth, eventually leading to his collaboration with Classical Academic Press for The Curious Historian curriculum.
When he’s not writing music, John serves as music pastor at Danville First Baptist Church in Danville, Pennsylvania. Through his music and writing, he hopes to serve the local and worldwide church and help the next generation remember what is true, good, and beautiful.
