As the second text in a 3-year series, Latin Alive! Book 2 (LA2) continues the clear, relevant, and incremental Latin instruction begun in Latin Alive! Book 1 (LA1). LA2 features Latin readings from the time of the Roman Empire, thus integrating the study of Roman history, literature, and civilization with students’ language studies. This revised edition emphasizes an approach to language learning that draws from a variety of pedagogical tools taken from the best of the traditional focus on grammar as well as from the immersion method.

• Enrich their knowledge of Roman civilization through articles by Dr. Karl Galinsky of the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Christopher Schlect of New Saint Andrews College, and Dr. Tim Moore of Washington University
• Continue building translation skills by reading adaptations from Latin literature that will help prepare them for academic opportunities such as the National Latin Exam, the Universal Latin Exam, and a Latin Advanced Placement class
