Latin for Children Primer C History Reader

  • A yearlong course for students in grades 6-7

Latin for Children Primer C is the third and final level in the Latin for Children series. Like Primer A and Primer B before it, Latin for Children Primer C is engaging, incremental, and easy to use.

With the Latin for Children Primer C History Reader, young Latin scholars can translate and read, in Latin that is at their level, a selection of 32 stories about the New World explorers and early American history. The Latin stories in this volume are in parallel with the Veritas History Curriculum (card series) and integrated with the grammar and vocabulary of Latin for Children Primer C, published by Classical Academic Press. This reader contains glosses for new words in each chapter and a full glossary at the end of the book. While it is keyed to Latin for Children Primer C, this reader is an excellent supplementary text for students using other Latin curricula as well.

Revised and continually sharpened since 2001, the award-winning Latin for Children curriculum continues to be a strong, inviting, and creative program designed to introduce students as young as 4th grade to Latin. The series trains students in Latin grammar and vocabulary as well as English derivatives in a lively, interactive way that is perfectly suited to students in the upper-grammar stage. The Latin for Children series is taught directly to the child and is a perfect choice for teachers and parents, including those who will be learning along with their students.

The Latin for Children Primer C Video & Audio (or DVD & CD Set) is also a valuable tool for the classroom! It can be used as:

    • A helpful resource for Latin teachers to prepare for a lesson
    • A substitute teacher when the regular teacher is away
    • A helpful resource for a student to catch up on a missed lesson
    • A helpful resource for a student to maintain skills or catch up to the class over the summer
    • An addition to a summer school course
    • A library item helpful to the struggling Latin student or the curious parent
